Energy Conservation and Field Experiment

Energy conservation has gained attention from the perspectives of climate change and energy security. It has been noted that nonprice factors, such as social norms, influence people’s energy saving practices. I have examined the nonprice factors influencing individuals’ and firms’ energy saving actions.
Recently, I have conducted several field experiments. In collaboration with a private hotel, I implemented an experiment with hotel guests. Furthermore, I participated in an experiment to “nudge” Philippine households towards energy savings.
I am also engaged in a study on the promotion of an energy-saving air conditioner in the Philippines. These studies in the Philippines are carried out in collaboration with Prof Majah Leah V. Ravago, Ateneo de Manila University.
I am also conducting a comparative study of Japan and Germany in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Andreas Ziegler, University of Kassel, Germany.
