近年、気候変動やエネルギー安全保障の観点から省エネルギーが求められています。人間はエネルギー価格だけでは行動を決めない側面があります。そこで、どのような要素が企業や事業所、家計の省エネ行動を促進するかというテーマに関心を持ち、研究をしています。

最近は、家計の省エネ行動に関連して、京都のけいはんなプラザホテルと協力して社会実験を実施しました。また、フィリピンでは、家計での節電を促進するNudgeを用いた実験も行いました。今後は、フィリピンでの省エネ型エアコン普及の社会実験を予定しています。

また、ドイツのカッセル大学のAndreas Ziegler教授と日独比較研究に取り組んでいます（JSPS二国間交流事業）。
